The opening of The Grand Tea Room is our initial offering to the public located at 24 W. Main Street Carrollton, Ohio. It is the first of many projects, and an exemplification of our endeavors these past two years. The restoration of the Van Horne Building built in 1826 is the adventure of our lives! We began this journey May 20, 2019, the day my grandson Knoxton was born. If you read my personal reflection you will find the details, and I’m trying not to deflect here. I have heard and read about individuals who experience events which prove to be pivotal in their lives, re-directing their otherwise “normal” existence. Touring the Van Horne building that day was just such a life-changing event for me.

The initial tour of the majestic building proved to be so exciting and inspirational that I literally envisioned each room completed and ready to be enjoyed. I could see the beautiful building coming alive to its former glory. The many rooms filled with individuals sharing and exchanging ideas……the ballroom filled with people, music and laughter. I felt so passionate about its possibilities and grandeur, that it had to have been “my calling”. I was inspired to revitalize one of the oldest, and most beautiful and interesting buildings in Carrollton! I am passionate about restoring the old hotel on the square to her glorious past, and bringing others from far and wide to Carrollton to enjoy the journey.

Our next challenge is to create educational, relaxing Air B&B’s filled with historical artifacts on the second and third floors. In addition, our plans include developing retail spaces, with the largest space designed to share beautiful Antiques. Our culminating project will be to restore the beautiful Ballroom to the warm and enriching venue it once was, those many years ago. We envision a hub of activity and enterprise, a room filled with friends , acquaintances and fellowship. Welcome to my vision, my dream…….my passion and my legacy.
